Twilight (Hunter novel)
Fifth book in the second Warriors arc.
Twilight is the fifth installment of the second Warriors story arc, *The New Prophecy*, and follows the cat clans as they search for a new home. The book was generally well received by critics.
In the story, ThunderClan and WindClan are recovering from an attack by Mudclaw and Hawkfrost. Squirrelflight grows closer to Ashfur while her bond with Brambleclaw weakens, as she distrusts his half-brother Hawkfrost. WindClan’s Onewhisker receives his nine lives at the Moonpool and becomes leader Onestar. Later, a farm cat named Daisy brings her three kits—Berry, Hazel, and Mouse—to ThunderClan after seeing humans take her friend Floss’s kits. Medicine cat Leafpool struggles with her forbidden love for WindClan warrior Crowfeather. After Cinderpelt confronts her, Leafpool decides to run away with Crowfeather, following advice from Spottedleaf. However, they return when the badger Midnight warns them of a badger attack on the clans. During the battle, Sorreltail gives birth to four healthy kits while Cinderpelt helps her and fights badgers, but Cinderpelt is killed. ThunderClan begins to lose until WindClan arrives, summoned by Midnight, and together they drive the badgers away. Leafpool ultimately chooses to stay with ThunderClan as its medicine cat instead of leaving with Crowfeather.
Critical reception was warm. Barnes & Noble praised the novel for being eventful, and a BookLoons reviewer gave a positive review, though a Children’s Literature reviewer noted the story could be confusing without background knowledge.

Onewhisker of WindClan travels to the Moonpool, earning his nine lives and leader name, becoming Onestar. Later, Daisy, a farm cat, takes her three kits, Berry, Hazel, and Mouse, to join ThunderClan after Daisy witnesses the humans taking her friend Floss' kits away.
