Rising Storm is a fantasy novel, the fourth book in the Warriors series, written under the pen name of Erin Hunter. The book was actually written by Kate Cary. It follows the adventures of four Clans of anthropomorphic feral cats, focusing on Fireheart, the new deputy of ThunderClan, as he struggles to fulfill his duties while knowing that the previous deputy, Tigerclaw, lurks in the forest seeking revenge.

The plot follows Fireheart, ThunderClan's new deputy, haunted by the exiled Tigerclaw. Bluestar, the Clan leader, grows paranoid after Tigerclaw's betrayal, distrusting non-Clanborn cats. Fireheart also deals with his rebellious apprentice Cloudpaw, who is abducted by Twolegs (humans) and later rescued. A wildfire destroys ThunderClan's camp, killing elders Patchpelt, Halftail, and medicine cat Yellowfang. At the end, a Gathering reveals that ShadowClan's leader and deputy have died from sickness, and Tigerclaw—now Tigerstar—has become ShadowClan's leader.
