The Sight follows three kits—Lionkit, Hollykit, and Jaykit—who secretly leave camp to track foxes threatening ThunderClan. Moons later, Hollypaw becomes Leafpool's apprentice, Lionpaw becomes Ashfur's apprentice, and Jaypaw becomes Brightheart's apprentice. At a Gathering, Graystripe returns with Millie, having escaped capture, causing a dispute over the deputy role; Brambleclaw remains deputy. Jaypaw receives a dream from StarClan telling him he must become a medicine cat, and he and Hollypaw trade roles. A special Gathering is held with apprentice contests, during which Lionpaw and Breezepaw fall into a collapsing badger set; Jaypaw saves them with Crowfeather. The book ends with Jaypaw walking in Firestar's dream and hearing the prophecy: 'There will be three, kin of your kin, who hold the power of the stars in their paws.'

Reader's Guide

The Sight quickly mounted #1 on all major sales charts, including the New York Times Best Seller list. Booklist gave a positive review, noting that 'personal tensions are juxtaposed against dangers from the outside' and that 'plenty of action and solid characterizations make this an enticing choice for fans of the long-running enterprise.' The novel was nominated as the best Middle Readers book at Amazon's Best Books of the Year (2007), placing sixth out of ten nominees with six percent of the total votes. Its significance lies in launching the Power of Three subseries and introducing the prophecy that drives the narrative, while maintaining the Warriors franchise's popularity.
